ELECTIVE OFFICE IS A JOB,
NOT
A REWARD®
I’m prepared and ready
to roll up my sleeves and run a city. I believe reliable judgment,
based on skill
and experience, leads to quality decision making. If we want
Scottsdale to be better, then we must pay attention and start
electing candidates who actually possess specific skills and
experience for the job. I am determined to be elected and prove
that what counts is what you know, not who you know.
Real Estate issues are critical to City planning.
My 27 years in real estate management and 10 years in retail
manufacturing have given me the skills
and experience to be part of the solution. I know Real Estate Management, Land
Planning and Retail Development. I know what the development community knows
and I understand and respect their business. Throughout
my career I’ve hired “experts” and negotiated with companies
bigger than me. I know how to listen, how to negotiate and how to say NO.
Let’s consolidate what we have and make
it work better. Let’s repair or replace old infrastructure
before it breaks. Residential property rights are sacred, and
if you work here, I’d like you to be able to live here.
I will ask that more land be donated by builders for city facilities
and require denser landscaped buffers to reduce street noise.
I do not support cash subsidies into real estate. Voting is
critical and I will seek a major effort by the city to increase
registration. Thomas Jefferson said, “a nation can never
be ignorant and free.” I am an advocate of carpooling,
water conservation and measures to combat global warming and
want to see Scottsdale be a national leader in these efforts
because progressive cities attract technology employers and
quality employees. Downtown Scottsdale and the Arts are treasures
to be enhanced. I do not support the use of “eminent
domain” except for public health or safety issues. The
golf industry must not be taken for granted because they make
Scottsdale a world-wide travel destination. Shopping centers
and tenants are vital to our economy and our lifestyle and
retail tenants will have my support in every way so that they
may be successful.
I am limiting my business, just turned
60 and I’ve changed some lives and I’m ready
to change my own. Public Service is a sacred trust, and I
pledge to you, that my background will show not one blemish
or misstep either personally or professionally. I’ve
been self employed for 27 years specializing in shopping
center Asset Management, and have 10 years of experience
as a marketing executive in the china, crystal & silver
industry while living in Boston, St. Louis and New Jersey.
My judgment is based on proven skill and experience and I
WILL MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON “MERIT”, NOT IDEOLOGY.
I will stop running for office when elected. In other words,
politics will not play a role in my decision making. |
